Multifab Metals Engineering Ltd is an innovative Peterborough based steel fabricator which provides high quality bespoke & one-of fabrications making full use of our expertise in AutoCAD, Tekla and CNC Plasma profiling.
As a leading steel fabricator in Peterborough, we have developed strategic partnerships with a number of established and well known engineering firms in and around the Peterborough area. Working closely we have a reputation for reduced lead times and consistently meeting stringent deadlines, always going the extra mile.
Our rapidly expanding Peterborough based Steel Fabrication business started in 2001 and has seen us relocate to a new 20,000 sq ft factory unit in September 2005 whilst increasing our time served work-force to 24 in total.
Our swift progress, however, has been built on a solid platform of quality fabrications and commitment to the development of, and certification for, ISO 9001:2000.
Multifab have just been accessed and accredited with the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) certification. This continues the companies push towards flexibility and excellence in the structural and construction industries. The company can offer its customers the confidence to secure and deliver on all projects undertaken, benefiting both parties for the continued procurement of future contracts.
Multifab Introduce MIE Solutions Production Control
MIE Solutions is the leading provider of production control software for the entire manufacturing sector. Incorporating MRP, ERP, Scheduling, Shop floor data capture, Bar Coding, Job Costing, Quoting and Estimating. MIE Trak is the market leading software for sheet metal fabricators, precision engineers and manufacturers. It can be adapted to incorporate any manufacturing processes if required and offers a complete solution.
Multifab has been using MIE Solutions for over 12 months to control all production, starting with the quotation process through the printing of the delivery note. The special software was introduced to ensure the smooth flow of all projects, allowing full control on materials, workshop hours, material purchases and final costs at the touch of a button. Procurement & Projects Manager Paul Daff visited the company’s headquarters in Bromsgrove for a 2 day training session covering all aspects of the software; the total package now runs all the companies’ production control. The end result is a more efficient company that is in full control of all areas of its workload, showing our customers that we are committed to offering them the best service they deserve.
Multifab Introduce Tekla Building & Construction Design Software
Tekla Structures
Tekla Structures is Building Information Modelling (BIM) software that enables the creation and management of accurately detailed, highly constructible 3D structural models regardless of material or structural complexity. Tekla models can be used to cover the entire building process from conceptual design to fabrication, erection and construction management.
Tekla Structures streamlines the entire workflow from sales, bidding, cost estimation, and conceptual design to detailing, fabrication, erection, and follow-up. Tekla Structures not only increases productivity in each phase, but also enhances the entire building value chain.
Innovative technology
The structural steel industry is facing more challenges due to shorter lead times, lack of complete information, problems in revision handling, and a wider need to collaborate with other disciplines. Tekla Structures enables the most data-rich, highly constructible 3D and 4D structural building information models, and is a significant contrast to current document-based platforms where drawings and reports are distributed and reworked among different organisations.
Multifab Technical Director Stephen Crowson commented "Implementing the Tekla construction and design software enables Multifab to be at the cutting edge of the construction industry, allowing us to respond rapidly and professionally to all enquires/orders we receive".
